Many eLearning standards can only capture digital experiences. xAPI enables you to track experiences across multiple environments and systems. xAPI also has flexibility when it comes to the structure of “statements,” allowing you to track what’s most important to you.
There are two key elements within the specification: statements and the Learning Record Store (LRS). Statements dictate the format for specific learning activities and follow an “[actor] [verb] [object]” structure. The LRS is where xAPI statements are stored and its portion of the spec defines the communication method for sending, receiving and requesting data.
